I can't imagine Obama would pick Bayh. It would be total political suicide. I mean he's already isolated half of his base and party supporters by voting "yea" on FISA. I pray that he has at least enough integrity to campaign with someone whose only purpose isn't to just pander to a right-of-center audience.

In any case I'm probably voting third party, unless Obama revokes his support for FISA of course; http://tinyurl.com/5w9w9v

Has anyone checked out Bayh's views on Iran? This is from a book review:

Greenwald cites Evan Bayh, a Democratic senator from Indiana. Bayh thinks it would be a shame if we “soured an entire generation on the necessity, from time to time, of using force because Iraq has been such a debacle.” According to Bayh, Iran is “everything we thought Iraq was but wasn’t. They are seeking nuclear weapons, they do support terrorists, they have threatened to destroy Israel, and they’ve threatened us, too.”

http://www.texasobserver.org/article.php?aid=2634

Okay, it doesn't sound that weird taken in context with Obama's statements about invading Pakistan, but when you read the statements from neocons right next to it:

The sense of unreality a nonbeliever gets from reading neocon sources that Greenwald cites is almost hallucinogenic. For example, with no acknowledgment of how overstretched our military forces and national treasury already are, history professor Arthur Herman has proposed, in the neoconservative magazine Commentary, grandiose plans for air strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities and industrial infrastructure, and for seizing Iranian offshore oil wells and platforms. His literally fantastic conclusion is that “[b]y the time the campaign [is] over, the United States military would be in a position to control the flow of Iranian oil at the flick of a switch.”

Read that again: at the flick of a switch. Have neocon historians forgotten then-Deputy Secretary of Defense Paul Wolfowitz’s promise in spring 2003 that Iraqi oil revenues would pay the costs of reconstructing Iraq, and that we would be down to 30,000 troops by autumn 2003?

Then, if you remember Obama saying at this week's little religious litmus test extravaganza that he considers it okay to go to war to protect "national interests", would an Obama /Bayh ticket be a combustible combination that would produce a Dr. Strangelove foreign policy?

Evan Bayh has a voting record worse than many Republicans. Evan Bayh might as well be a member of the Republican Party. Evan Bayh 2008 = Joseph Lieberman 2000 = Democratic Loss.

If Obama picks Bayh, I'm through with Obama.

How about rewiritng Martin Niemollers "first they came" poem..

Then they came for the trade unionists, and I said "chill"...

Year in and year out in Washington the politicians listen to K Street. Every four years or so, the politicians discover they need something called "votes" to continue in office and must turn away from their wealthy corporate lobbyists long enough to listen to us little people.

This is it. Our time to speak is now.

As Americans we must speak. That is what our flag stands for, that is what our constitution stands for, that is the freedom "they" hate us for, that is our birthright that so many have died to protect.

If Ron thinks that chilling out is such a great thing, he certainly has the freedom to do so himself.

The problem is everyone up for consideration like Biden, Kaine, Hillary, etc, has a bad record. This was never about a puritan hero getting the nod, otherwise Russ Feingold would be in play. SO CHILL OUT!
