Congress is empowered to pass laws. If they pass a bad law it needs to be repealed. This is bad law and this site seeks to have this law repealed. 1. Maybe you should get the Add This pluggin

    http://www.addthis.com (It’s free)

It will help give you a list off all the sites out there where you can submit your posts. I use it.

This site looks slightly Republican hostile based on the Blogroll. I hope we can work together on issues like FISA.

I’m kind of a Ron Paul conservative although there are some issues where I agree more with Dennis Kucinich. I’m a big fan of Dennis Kucinich.

    I’m not particularly religious.

Break The Matrix (Ron Paul supporters) has joined with the ACLU in a group called Strange Bedfellows. The purpose is to fight issues like the Patriot Act and FISA.

Here’s a great article on FISA and Strange Bedfellows

Anyway, please lets try to work together to eliminate hostilities between each other. That way we can all work together as U.S. Citizens for freedom and human rights.

Remember honey will get you farther than vinegar. I believe Democrats often have some really good ideas, but when they out right attack Republicans for being Republicans, they can’t get Republicans to listen to what they have to say. I agree Republicans are just as guilty.

  2. This is wordpress.com. We can not use plugins, nor can we have ads. They are forbidden.

Repeal Fisa is committed to the free flow of information and privacy rights as guaranteed under the Constitution of the United States of America. Through the use of the lawful flow information we seek to contribute to the continued growth of individual and collective knowledge and offer here a forum for the expression of opposition to the compromising of those values. We welcome any communication service providers to join us in a building a secure future for the country.

  4. Edit as desired.
Use irony to turn their arguments aginst them.
Distribute widely (sympathetic web sites and ISP corporations).
In the event of even one ISP replying with support it could open the flood gates.

  5. Brevity and clarity would work best.

  6. Charles, although there is no doubt this is a forum of expression i was actually hoping it would be a springboard of opposition and a fountain of information. In which case briefs are definitely in order.

  7. The mission statement is the language of the board room. When crickets are heard in reply to a request for endorsement to common sense positive statements, that puts them on the defensive.

  8. By the way, Charles, i have been patiently waiting for you to join in as a blogger. Read “Blog Here” if you have not already.

  9. AT&T’s Mission Statement

We aspire to be the most admired and valuable company in the world. Our goal is to enrich our customers’ personal lives and to make their businesses more successful by bringing to market exciting and useful communications services, building shareowner value in the process.

  10. Verizons mission statement,
“As a leader in communications, Verizon’s mission is to enable people and businesses to communicate with each other. We are also committed to providing full and open communication with our customers, employees and investors.”

  11. Mission Statement
Quest’s purpose is to stimulate professional development in physical education by publishing articles concerned with issues critical to physical education in higher education. The journal does not publish original research reports but welcomes articles that complement or review scholarly work related to the profession. Both theoretical and practical articles are considered. Quest serves a broad readership that includes academicians, teachers, and administrators by providing a public forum for scholarly and creative thought about the profession. Original articles are welcomed. See the Submission Guidelines for more information.

  12. That last one is not a communications conglomerate (I should read them first ) but note how we can try to hold them to these statements.

  13. Look up “Qwest.”

  14. Am I making sense?

    Am I making sense?

I would like to know how we should go about making a company accountable to its mission statement when we seem to be having difficulty making them accountable to the law.

  16. Your politicians and justice system have failed you. “There is more than one way to skin a cat”

  17. Boycott, Sandbag them on their cash flow. Put pressure on major intitutional sharholders who probably have misssion statements of their own.

  18. Great suggestions. In fact a boycott of all the telecoms involved in this scandal is definetly in order. Would you please become a member and write about this?

  19. I am not American. What I say or do is of little consequence and in fact could be counterproductive.
To impact the bottom lines of these major corporations would be an efficent way to bring about change. You can write all you want but it is like pissing in the wind at this point.
C&L, daily kos, and all the other prog. blogs offer a forum for you present strategies and desired outcomes.
    Follow the money.

  20. If 30% of billings were difficult for them they would come to heel.

  21. You don’t have to be American to fight against America’s bad policies. In fact America’s bad policies often impact the world even worse than it impacts it’s citizens.Fighting bad policies is never counter productive. There is no passport or visa required to blog on this site and you won’t be strip searched upon entry.

If you have a good idea, we need you. If you want a voice, here is your platform. If you write what you have been talking about here as a post more people will see it because it will be on the front page.

As fellow human beings we have an obligation to fight inhuman behavior. This site has no borders.

This is not a call for you to write your failed politicians. This is not a call for you to donate to a recently sprung organization up to fight for your rights.
This is a call for you to take the fight for your constitutional rights directly to the boardrooms to the Corporations enabling the disenfranchisement of the American people.
This action will empower you to bring the Telecoms onside. This action will allow you stand for what you believe to be the right thing for the Country.
In return for your payment for services your communication providers have made a promise to you. This promise is written for all to see in their mission statements.

    AT&T’s Mission Statement
We aspire to be the most admired and valuable company in the world. Our goal is to enrich our customers’ personal lives and to make their businesses more successful by bringing to market exciting and useful communications services, building shareowner value in the process.

    Verizon’s Mission Statement
“As a leader in communications, Verizon’s mission is to enable people and businesses to communicate with each other. We are also committed to providing full and open communication with our customers, employees and investors.”

    Qwest Mission Statement
Qwest is the premier provider of full-service communications for people at work, at home or on the move. Qwest’s competency reaches across America, drawing on the Spirit of Service at the heart of our heritage as we effectively steward our shareowners’ investments and provide outstanding service to the customers we serve. As our dedicated professionals move and manage information, we do so ethically and with integrity, providing superior value and advanced products and services, assuming only those tasks we can do exceedingly well.

These promises to you are clear and concise. They have broken that promise to you. They have allowed an insidious and offensive practices to undermine your rights.
You are the customer. You pay them to provide you with services within the law as all right thinking people take for granted. The time has come to take the battle to the enablers.
If your outrage is real let them know. With every interaction voice your intent to cripple them financially. Delay payments of bill as long a legally possible. Question all billings. Cut back service to bare minimums until they conform to the rule of law.
One person cannot do it. One Hundred thousand can begin the effort. One million can cause them to examine those promises they have made to you.
They will then tell your elcted representatives what must happen.
Please spread this call to action wherever you can.

  23. I could be wrong, but i think Qwest is the company that refused to go along with Bush and wiretap phones without a warrant.

In the interview, Mr. Payne confirmed that, at the February 27, 2001 meeting, “[t]here was some discussion about [redacted]. Mr. Payne also stated: Subsequent to the meeting the customer came back and expressed disappointment at Qwest’s decision. Payne realized at this time that “no” was not going to be enough fro them. Payne said they never actually said no and it went on for years. In meetings after meetings, they would bring it up. At one point, he suggested they just them, “no.” Nacchio said it was a legal issue and that they could not do something their general counsel told them not to do. … Nacchio projected that he might do it if they could find a way to do it legally.

  24. Yeah, Qwest is the one that actually had it’s legal department go over the wiretapping request and decided that it wasn’t legal, despite what the government had claimed.

They should be the prime example of why retroactive immunity isn’t necessary or desirable.

  25. What Qwest did or did not do is not my point. Let them stand on thier promises or thier lies. While we dither these corps. are drinking your milkshake.

  26. I guess if any effort does not involve raising money for something it is not valid.

  27. Ok, send me a dollar. Validate my cause.

  28. Not meant as a dig. How can you get people to act in their own best interst? Seem raising funds is the only vahicle known.

  29. 2nd attempt
Not meant as a dig. How can you get people to act in their own best interst? Seems raising funds is the only vehicle known.
This is why I do not engage in the live repartee.

  30. First you have to inform them. Most people are unaware of the issues involved. Informing others means becoming informed yourself. If FISA is a problem (and i think it is) then it will become apparent to people when they get the facts.

Figuring out the best forms to present the facts, the best ways to get the facts out and attempting to create a dialouge about the facts is at the root of what we need to do.

Once people understand they may act, but many people want to be led by the hand. I want to encourage people to take up the idea of working out various creative ways to put this issue into the forefront of American Politics.

    Should be easy. 🙂
